Megan Hemmerling, Principal
Megan Hemmerling, who has been the Vermillion Elementary School Assistant Principal since August 2023, will be the new Maize Central Elementary School Principal effective Aug. 1. She will fill the position following current Principal David Jennings’ retirement. She was honored as the 2025 Kansas Assistant Principal of the Year for Area 3. Previously, she was a Maize South Middle School Assistant Principal for five years. She was also a teacher at Maize Middle School and in Wichita, where she received the Golden Apple award.

Support Staff
Our secretaries manage administrative tasks, support communication between staff, students, and parents, and ensure the smooth operation of the school office. Our counselors support students' emotional, social, and academic development by providing guidance, resources, and a safe space to address their needs. Our school nurse cares for the health and wellness of students, including administering medication. Learn about health services in the district.
